Victorians loved coral and used it often in jewelry. They believed it could ward off evil. This pin or brooch dates from the mid to late 19th Century. It is made of gold fill and coral.
The piece has a c-clasp closure and at its center is a lovely carved coral rose. There is a tassel hanging down from the center, with four chains.
The pin weighs 6.5 grams and is 1 1/2" at its widest point, wit a length of 2" including the tassels. It is in fine vintage condition.
