I believe this fabulous pendant was initially put together with a few older pieces of coral jewelry to form a stunning pendant that any woman would love to wear today. It is set in 14 karat yellow gold, not hallmarked, but acid tested. The top portion is a carved coral bow sitting atop an 8mm coral bead. There is a small gold ring on the top for your chain. On either side of this bead is a gold ring with a fine chain that suspends the coral tear drops, with gold caps on top.
The coral is a medium salmon color, very Victorian looking. One of the drops is slightly longer than the other, a design frequently seen in Art Nouveau jewelry. It is difficult for me to date the piece, but I believe it was manufactured at the very end of the 19th century or the early 20th Century.
The pendant weighs 6.7 grams. It has a total length of 2 1/4". Each tear drop bead is 1 1/8" long, including the gold caps. It is in fine vintage condition.
