This wonderful watch fob dates from the early 19th Century. It is made of 9 karat yellow gold and has a carnelian stone at the bottom. The piece has hallmarks, which I believe are for 9 karat, but it has also been acid tested for gold content.
It is small, measuring 1" in length, including the loop on top. The round carnelian stone has a diameter of 1/2". There are lovely raised designs all over the gold. It would be great as a fob on a watch chain, or used as a charm or pendant.
The piece weighs 2.9 grams and is in fine antique condition.
