This is a wonderful silver plate tussie mussie or posey holder. Victoria ladies would use these to hold a small bouquet and carry them to a dance. This one has no hallmarks, but I believe it to be of English origin. This was part of a large collection, obtained from the estate of a California collector. I will be adding several more in the upcoming weeks.
The holder has a lovely repousse floral design and there is a large pin on a chain to hold your flowers in. There is a large loop on the bottom to hold onto when dancing. They were also used by bride's to hold a small wedding bouquet.
The holder has a length of 5 1/2". It is in excellent condition.
