This lovely and unusual fob dates from the late 19th Century. It is unusual, having a painted porcelain plaque at its center. It came with a 925 sterling silver chain and was worn as a pendant by its former owner. It looks lovely that way, but can also be used at the end of a watch chain as a fob for both a man or a woman.
The fob, made of gold fill, measures about 1 1/4" in length and the oval porcelain plaque is about 1.8mm in length. The plaque shows a Colonial courting couple, both dressed in pink against a light blue background with trees. The sterling chin has a length of 24".
The two pieces have a combined weight of 8.4 grams and are in fine vintage condition.
