Presenting a charming gift for baby. It is an English hallmarked sterling, silver and mother of pearl baby rattle that has a teething ring and two bells. The piece is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling, an anchor for Birmingham and shows a date code of 1947. It also bears the initials WA for its manufacturer.
The rattle has a sterling round center with the word Baby written in script on both sides. There are silver bells on either side of the center. There is a round open mother of pearl circle to be used as a teething ring and a long mother of pearl handle.for the baby to grasp.
The piece has a total length of 4" and the center sterling circle has a 1 1/4" diameter. It is in good vintage condition, with one dimple in the sterling center.
