Presenting another lovely Nippon moriage vase, this one with a flared top and measuring 10 1/2" high. The piece was made in Japan at the end of the 19th Century, Meiji period. These vases are usually unmarked. They are called moriage for their intricate slip-work designs.
This vase has a center cartouche on either side displaying a hand painted floral design. It is bulbous in shape with two large handles and a tapered neck. The top portion fans out . The bottom, sides , neck and handles are covered with a slip-work design done in shades of pink, green, blue and red.
The vase is in fine antique condition with perhaps one or two dots of moriage missing.
