Elizabeth Le Brun was a famous French portrait painter, born in the mid 18th Century. She was known for her portraits of famous women of the time, many depicted wearing large hats. The piece is signed LEBRUN and is a hand painted replica of one of her works.
The miniature is encased in glass and is the top of a wonderful ladies dresser mirror made of gilt bronze, and dating from the late 19th to early 20th Centuries. The portrait measures 3 3/8" by 2 1/2". the mirror has a length of 9 1/4".
The frame and handle of the mirror have lovely raised design work with a bow design on top. The piece is in overall good antique condition, with some tarnish to the metal and spotting on the mirror. All in all, a lovely piece for your vanity or dresser.
