Presenting a lovely hardstone cameo ring from the Victorian era, circa 1880. the ring is unmarked, but has been tested as comprised of 9 to 10 karat yellow gold. The gold has a slight pink cast to it. It is size 7 1/2 which is quite large for a Victorian ring, and I see no evidence of re-sizing..
The cameo has a profile of a classical female and a brown background, probably carnelian. It measures about 1/2" by 1/4". The band is about 1/8" wide, with a nice incised design on either side of the central cameo.
The ring weighs 2.4 grams and is in fine antique condition.
