This is an absolutely gorgeous brooch/pendant manufactured by the premier company for pearls; Mikimoto. The piece is hallmarked Mikimoto Ginza, Tokyo 14K. It dates to the 1970's or 80's.
It is done in a starburst design and has a length of 1 3/4". The largest pearl is at the center and it is 7.5mm. There are 11 pearls measuring 5.5mm and 18 pearls measuring 4.5 mm. The pearls are of the highest quality akoya and are very white and lustrous.
The pearls are set in a 14 karat gold setting and the back has a safety clasp closure that has a bale on the bar (part of the fastening mechanism), so you can string a chain through and wear it as a pendant if desired.
The piece came out of the estate with its original red velvet box, also hallmarked with the Mikimoto logo.
The pendant/brooch weighs 11.8 grams and both box and pendant are in excellent vintage condition.. This is truly a collector's piece, made to pass down from one generation to the next. Shipping will be via registered priority mail, with restricted delivery unless requested otherwise.
