Presenting a wonderful piece of antique Scottish Victorian jewelry, dating from the late 19th Century. The piece can be worn as either a brooch/pin or pendant. It is made of sterling silver, not hallmarked but carefully acid tested, and polished banded agate. It also contains a faux citrine stone at its center.
The piece is in the shape of a star with six points. The pieces of the star are made of polished agate stone, some of which are banded and done in soft shades of gray, beige and brown. There is a round central faux citrine stone bezel set in silver.
The back has an old c-clasp with an elongated stem. There is also a small loop, through which you to put a chain. It has a small opening, so you would need a fine gauge chain.
The pendant/brooch weighs 22.9 grams. It measures 2 1/2" and is in fine antique condition.
