This is a beautiful and unusual spoon, perhaps meant as a child's spoon, that tests at 800 or better silver. It is hallmarked with what I believe is a Hanau silver mark from Germany.
The spoon is 5 1/2" in length with a large bowl, measuring 2 3/4" by 1 3/4". The bowl has an embossed scene showing a man and his lamb. It looks to be hand hammered.
The top of the handle has a heart and there is a delightful little rooster perched on the edge. Below the rooster is curved little handle, perhaps for a child to hold, or to hook onto a rack to display.
The spoon weighs .855 troy ounces. It is in fine vintage condition.
