This lovely brooch or pin dates to the late 19th Century. It is made of 14 karat yellow gold. There are no hallmarks on the piece, but it has been carefully acid tested as 14 karat.
The brooch has a textured oval gold top portion, with an applied smooth bar in the middle, centered with a tiny seed pearl.. Suspended from the oval are three diamond shaped pieces of gold with three 14k tested dangles at the bottom. It makes for a very attractive Victorian look.
The brooch has a c-clasp closure, and also has a hook for a pocket watch.. The piece appears to have been originally designed for the addition of a pocket watch to the bottom of the brooch, so the lower dangle section may have been added at a later date. In any event, it certainly adds to the attractiveness of the piece.
The brooch is 1 1/4" wide at top and has a total length, including the dangles, of 2 1/4". It weighs 7.3 grams and is in fine antique condition.
