I am thrilled to present to you this awesome demi-parure. It is from the Victorian period and dates from about 1870. It consists of a pendant/brooch and earrings. It is not hallmarked, but tests at 14 karat gold. It has carved coral and natural seed pearls.
The brooch/pendant has a length of 3" and is 1 1/2" wide. It has a c-clasp closure and a removable bale that is inset with a square piece of coral. The center has a carved coral cameo of a front facing woman. It is about 15mm in length. There are three pearls surrounding the cameo. At the bottom of the piece are two carved coral dangles and a center open gold dangle. It is in fine antique condition.
The earrings are a perfect match to the pendant./brooch. They measure about 2" in length and are 7/8" wide. They have the original ear wires and have a central front facing carved coral female face. The dangles imitate the ones on the pendant/ brooch. The top portion of the earrings each contain six tiny seed pearls and the cameo is surrounded with three pearls. just like the pendant/brooch. It is in fine antique condition.
The set comes with its original brown leather case. The case has a shield shape and is lined in burgundy satin and velvet. The inside is pristine, but the outside has some scratches and it has warped over the 100+ years, so it does not close all the way. Still, wonderful to have with the set.
The set has a total weight of 2.11 grams. It is rare to find these complete sets and boxes from this age. Don't miss out.
