This is a wonderful pair of sterling salt cellars dating to the mid 18th Century. The hallmarks identify them as being made in London by Robert Hennell I, with the date of manufacture being 1758.
The salts have cobalt blue glass liners, which appear to be original to the pieces. They stand on three curved feet and are 1 1/4" tall, with a diameter of 2 1/4".
They have a silver weight of 2.780 troy ounces and are in fine antique condition.
