This is another great find from my trip to Gettysburg, PA. It is a pendant made from gutta percha, dating from the mid 19th Century.
The pendant is 2 1/2" long and 1 1/2" wide. It has an opening at the top for you to attach a chain or ribbon. There is a raised scroll design beneath the opening. There are also more molded designs around the sides and at the bottom.
The center has a one inch long oval opening, into which someone has inserted a piece of woven brown hair. The oval is trimmed with a gold filled twisted bezel. Perhaps this is a memorial piece from a Civil War soldier?
The pendant has a weight of 7.9 grams and is in fine antique condition.
Please Note: For any desired international shipments, advance approval is required before placement of orders. Out of country shipments, must be by Express Mail International. Please see my shop terms of sale which can be found on the right hand side of any page.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
