This is a delightful watch fob made by Bates & Bacon. It is made of gold fill and dates from the early 20th Century. It has a typical Art Nouveau design, showing a female profile with flowing hair. She has three paste stones in her coiffure.
The fob has a total length of four inches. There is also an attached 9" chain ending with a swivel hook, to attach your pocket watch. Ladies - you could remove the chain and wear the fob as a pendant.
The piece weighs 16.1 grams and is in good vintage condition, with some gilding loss to the female profile, only visible with a loop. The mesh has two tiny loose spots, but still makes a wonderful and unusual presentation.
