This is a delightful little covered jar dating to the Meiji period (late 19th to early 20th Century) and made in Japan.
It is made of cloisonné enamel and is done primarily in shades of blue and brown. The brown color has a sparkle to it (infused with goldstone).
The jar stands on three tiny gold colored feet and the cover has a gold colored finial.
The jar is about 4 1/2" high with its cover. It has a base diameter of about 2 1/2". It is in very good vintage condition, with no missing pieces, scratches or dents.
