This is a wonderful ring dating to the 1920's. It is made of hallmarked 10 karat rose gold with white gold accents. The inside band has an inscription "W.J.B. to B." It is difficult to read the rest. I just love these old inscribed rings, telling a story.
The ring is a size 8 1/2, and I believe intended for a man, but would also go with the women's fashion of today. It can easily be re-sized by your jeweler.
The center of the ring has a 1 1/8" by 1" carved intaglio of a Roman soldier (or perhaps Mercury). made of hematite. On either side of the intaglio are small white gold pieces, each with what looks like approximately one point prong set diamonds (too small to test).
The ring has a substantial weight of 8.5 grams and is in fine vintage condition.
