This wonderful piece dates to the early 1900's; the Edwardian era. It is a lavaliere - a very popular form of jewelry during this time period. It is hallmarked with what looks like CM or GM CO., as well as an additional hallmark which is very difficult to read but may say 10k. It has a gold content which has been acid and electronically tested as between 10 karat and 12 karat gold. The open pendant has a 5mm cultured pearl suspended at its center. The bottom portion is textured and done in three shades of gold. It has a length of 1 3/4" including the bale.
The chain also has an unreadable hallmark, but tests at least 10 karat gold. It is 20" long and has a ring clasp closure.
The piece has a total weight of 4.6 grams and is in fine vintage condition.
