This is a wonderful example of fine craftsmanship. It is a brooch /pin, dating to the late 19th Century.
The brooch is made of a salmon colored coral, with some touches of white. It depicts flowers and leaves. It is mounted on a gold colored back, The central mounting bar and some of the wires test as 10 karat gold with the surrounding oval mount being gold filled. Since it is not all gold, perhaps the mount has been replaced. There is a c-clasp closure.
The piece is about 2 1/8" long and 3/4" wide at the center. It weighs 11.6 grams and is in good antique condition. I don't see any breaks or cracks in the coral. If desired, you could put a chain through the top part of the backing and wear it as a pendant.
