Presenting an attractive hallmarked sterling silver slice. I initially believed the manufacturer to be Blair & Crawford, however a thoughtful customer has noted that Blair & Crawford was the retailer of this item, and the manufacturer was Dominick & Haff. Dominick & Haff was a U.S. silver manufacturer, primarily dealing with fine holloware & flatware, which operated out of New York between 1868 and 1928 before being integrated into Reed & Barton.
The sterling slice is 11" long and weighs 4.62 troy ounces. It has a patent date of .97 (1897). It can be used to cut cakes, pies or pastries.
The handle has a nice shell design and a faint monogram, very elaborate, perhaps an A C. It is in good vintage condition with some minimal scratching on the bottom, from use. Would make a fine wedding or anniversary gift, or for that manner any occasion.
