This lovely purse was made by the famous Unger Brothers of Newark, NJ and dates to the early 1900's; the Art Nouveau era.
It has the Unger Brothers hallmark and 925 Fine Sterling engraved on the inside of the frame. Also on the inside of the frame is the name Rose Laub Bates; probably the original owner. Her initials are monogrammed on the outer frame.
The purse has a square shape, with four sterling balls at the bottom. There is a twist style clasp and paper clip style chain, all original to the piece. The front of the frame has a pretty etched design.
The purse measures approximately 4 1/2' by 4 1/2". It weighs 113.1 grams and is in fine vintage condition.
