Demonstrating the lost art of hair work or weaving is this finely woven watch chain from the late 19th Century. It depicts three or four different patterns of weaving.
The chain is highlighted with bands of etched gold fill. I have seen many women attach additional chain at the rear and use these as necklaces. There is a center loop at the center where you could hang a small fob, pendant or locket.
The chain measures a total of 12". It is marked 1/10 on the findings, so it is presumably 1/10 gold filled content. It is in good antique condition with no visible wear to the hair or gold fill.
Please Note: For any desired international shipment, advance approval is required before placement of orders. Out of country shipment, must be by express mail international. Please see my shop terms of sale on right side of shop pages. $50 insurance is automatically provided on priority mail, so you may decline the additional insurance coverage if desired.
