This is a stunning piece of jewelry dating from the late 19th to early 20th Century. It is an Edwardian style brooch or pin.
The piece is made of 18 karat yellow gold and sterling silver. The metals have been carefully acid tested by my jeweler. The piece has some foreign hallmarks which I cannot identify. They are possibly Portuguese, as I purchased other items from this estate that were Portuguese in origin.
The back plaque and pin are testing at the 18 karat. The center rectangle is made of deep blue enamel and is surrounded by 18 karat gold beading. The center contains a mine cut diamond and two emeralds. The center diamond measures about 4mm and th emeralds are about 3mm in size.
Surrounding the enamel is a silver open work frame. There are about 16 small mine cut diamonds placed in the frame. It is truly a stunning piece of art.
The brooch/pin has a length of 1 1/4" and is 3/4" wide. It weighs 6.5 grams and is in fine vintage condition.
