This wonderful box would look wonderful on any lady's dresser. It is made of gilt bronze, and dates to the late 19th to early 20th Century.
the box has an unusual shape, being square at the center and then having both top and bottom ends circular in design. It stands on four feet. It has a wonderful embossed scene on its hinged cover, of a lady greeting a cherub in a garden. It is very Art Nouveau in design.
The lid opens at the bottom to reveal a red velvet interior that is in remarkably good shape for its age and would serve well to hold some jewels.
The box measures 3 3/4" by 2 1/2" and stands 2" high. It is in fine antique condition.
