This wonderful little box was most likely a souvenir of Rome and sold during the mid 20th Century. It is made of hallmarked 800 silver and is entirely filigreed in an intricate pattern.

The piece is small and can be used as a pill box or kept on one's dresser. It measures 1 1/2" by 1 1/16". It has a hinged lid and the word "ROMA" in script on the bottom of the lid. It is in fine vintage condition.
