This wonderful set of a bracelet and earrings come from Taxco Mexico and dates to the late 1950's or early 1960's'
It is made of sterling silver and has inlays of abalone throughout. The bracelet is a hinged style and has an asymmetrical design tapering from 1 1/2" at its widest, down to 1/2" where it meets up with the front. The entire top and bottom is trimmed with strips of abalone. It is very attractive and looks fabulous on my wrist. I usually wear a size 7 1/4". It should fit anywhere from 6 3/4" to 7 1/2" wrist.
The matching earrings are screw back, which was common for that time period. They are 1 1/2" long and have a curved shape. They each have four silver balls on the bottom and a nice strip of abalone going down the center.
The piece has the early eagle hallmark with 3 inside, for Taxco. They are stamped STERLING TAXCO and the bracelet has the initials UHC, while the earrings have the initials SHC. I was unable to identify either mark. They have a combined weight of 58.7 grams and are in wonderful vintage condition.
