Wow! This is one cool case! It originally carried a saleman's training kit for the the 1964 Oldsmobile models. The materials are all missing but the case is still here. It stands over 13" tall and is 18" long by 4 1/2" deep. It has a plastic handle, metal non-locking closures and metal hinges which are also the feet. The front of the maroon faux leather case is stamped with the Oldsmobile Rocket Symbol and "Oldsmobile" in silver gilt. There is heavy white stitching around the front and back of the case and faux white stitching on the plastic handle. The inside is white faux leather in the bottom part and in the lid is a white plastic or plasticized paper covering with the Oldsmobile rocket symbol and a list of the highlights of the information the kit included. There are two small "picked" spots on the front edge (one on either side) where the coating has been dinged, but they have been touched up with color. The metal plates on the bottom hinges have begun to rust and need to be cleaned and stabilized. The closures could use a cleaning, perhaps with Semi-chrome or something. The inside is nice and clean, but the white material is begin to come loose around the the top edges, a little glue should do the trick.
A great piece on so many levels!
