Here is a very nice antique toothpick holder from Royal Worcester. It is in the form of a young man in 18th Century attire leaning on a tree stump which is hollowed out to be the holder. He is replete with a tri-corner hat, vest, overcoat, shoes with bow on top, short pants and stocking, ribbon holding his long hair back and everything you would expect to see. There is very nice detailing on the clothing, the stump and ground below, and on his hair, fingers, etc. It bears the Crown and Ball logo on the bottom, dating this piece to circa 1862 (see images).
This piece stands just over 6 1/2" tall and is 3 3/16" across the base. I can detect no damage of any sort on this piece.
A wonderful old piece that will enhance any collection and look great in your display case or on your mantle or desk!
Enjoy each day!
