Here is a lovely Amethyst Carnival Glass Collector's plate from Fenton Art Glass Company. It is from the Craftsmen of American Series and is the second plate in series. On the back is imprinted: the Fenton in Oval mark; followed by "With This Handmade Plate Fenton commemorates the earliest printer of Colonial. This printing press was set up in Cambridge, Mass. by Stephen Daye in 1638. He printed the first book in English America, The Bay Pslam Book" - 1640." America ... Jamestown - 1608"; followed by "No. 2 in the annual series of collector's plates by Fenton"; followed by "1971".
This plate measures just over 8 1/4" in diameter. It is in excellent condition with no damage that I can detect.
A wonderful addition to, or start on, your Fenton, or Carnival Glass, collection!
