Here is a nice large copper lustreware (lusterware) mug produced in England. These wares were produced throughout most of the 19th century. It is all hand-painted, featuring a yellow-gold band around the body with pink luster flourishes as well as a pink luster band around the inside rim. These soft bodied items were mass produced for everyday use and are most often found with signs of use and small imperfections.
The mug measures just over 3" tall, just over 4 1/4" across the rim and handle, and 3" across the base.
It is in very good condition with crazing and some staining inside, and a few factory flaws around the rim (see images).
A very nice addition to, or start on, a lustreware collection!
Enjoy each day!
