Vintage ART Christmas tree pin brooch in an open, modern design, often referred to as the "amoeba tree". The same mold is pictured on Page 10 of Nancy Trowbridge's, O'Christmas Tree. Norm and Page 14 of Mary Morrison's, "Christmas Jewelry". Typically, this tree is seen in gold tone or green with a very light green wash over gold tone metal. This one is very unusual in that it features green enamel work in the typical style of ART (Art Mode Jewelry Creations) jewelry. Having sold and handled many pieces of ART jewelry, this one is rare in that it has the typical ART enamel work that ART jewelry is known for. This tree is fully enameled and features free-form open "windows" with blue, red, and topaz colored rhinestones within and raised dark green enameled balls. It is dappled with white enamel "snow" and the treetop star is accented with a clear rhinestone.
This well-known and loved Art Christmas tree pin brooch mold measures approximately 2-1/8 x 1-1/2" and has a safety closure. It is signed "ART" on the reverse of the trunk of the tree with a copyright symbol incised in the mold of the pin. The tree is in Excellent Condition.
We think this is a rare, fully enameled, Art Christmas tree pin brooch that is not shown in this color palette that you will enjoy wearing and adding to your collection.
