Vintage Trifari Clip Earrings from the famed Scherazade Collection of 1949 by Alfred Philippe in the most preferred color combination of simulated ruby red and sapphire blue color.
This is a highly venerated Trifari design that is much adored by collectors and is a classic of vintage costume jewelry design by Trifari. They are pictured on Page 132 of Brunialti's "American Costume Jewelry", Vol. 1.
The central, melon-cut , simulated ruby red stones are often referred to as a "jello mold" stones, much beloved by collectors for their gorgeous color and meant to imitate the carved Cartier precious stone Moghul jewelry . The central stone is appointed with a clear rhinestone center and pear-shaped, simulated sapphire cabochons alternate with clear rhinestones in gold tone metal surrounding the central stone.
They measure approximately 1 x 1" and have properly-working ear clips.
The clips are each signed, "TRIFARI" with a crown over the T and "PAT. PEND."
They are in Excellent Condition.
