Rare and complete, vintage RRP Co, Robinson-Ransbottom, set of 5 nested bowls in the Beehive Pattern is a fantastic example of this company's work. These attractive bowls will cheer up any kitchen or dining area with their lovely pastel colors. These are really thick and solid and the texture is really appealing. They would be really beautiful to display in so many different ways. Line them up and fill with treats for your next buffet, drop in potted plants to decorate your deck or window sill. You will think of lots of others.
They stand approximately 6" tall by 9" across when nested. The glazes are uneven and they are charmingly primitive and would be great in a Mid Century Modern kitchen.
Some of the bowls have marks that show "RRP" in the crown. Some have a number inside the crown.
The smallest bowl, mint green, is in Excellent Condition and is signed with a crown marked RRP Co - USA inside it. The pink bowl has flakes around the edge of the rim. There is crazing inside and out. The mark is vaguely legible under the glaze, but one can make out the RRP Co in the crown. The blue is in Excellent Condition and a slight indentation in the shape of a crown can be seen on the bottom. The melon color bowl in in Very Good Condition with a tiny fleck in the glaze in the center bottom of the bowl. The largest yellow bowl is in Very Good Condition with a few flecks or possibly bubbles leaving them without glaze. There are manufacturing defects and uneven glaze. They all have bare spots in the glaze on their bottoms where they stood on feet in the kiln. This is very common and not considered a flaw. We have more pics. Just ask.
The company started about 1900 and closed in 2005.
This set of nesting bowls by RRP Co will be beautifully useful while posing as remarkable vintage "props" in your kitchen or dining area.
