This could be world's smallest stock..., or a vise..., or a what-zit. Two 16'' x 2 1/2'' x 3 1/3'' lengths of wood are bolted together on either side of a cut out circle. This rustic piece is a curiosity. The lady i bought it from didn't know what it was either. I think it was created out of good old Yankee ingenuity and out of necessity for a specific purpose as a part of a greater piece. Or maybe it's a vise of some type. It would certainly be a conversation starter. It's in rustically shabby condition.
I've been told that this was used to pull pipe out of a well. I can't verify that information, I only repeat what has been told me. A second source has said this was some type of a pipe wrench. Indicators are pointing to this being a pipe wrench. No longer a what-zit.
