A perfect gift or an accent item for a table, desk, mantle or bookcase. The delicate flowers and leaves are carved from natural gemstones – agate and spinach green jade – with no artificial dyes. The branches are wrapped in dark green silk thread. The Chinese have been creating jade flowers since the Tang Dynasty, 481-221 BC.
The round cloisonné pot has a teal blue enamel background with a bird, flowers, leaves, and branches around the pot, interspersed with tiny clouds made from thin brass wires. The rim of the pot repeats the floral motif with six small flowers between green tendrils. There is a spot of yellow enamel on the blue enamel bottom of the pot.
The flowers, when opened up, stand about 8" high, 6" wide, and 6" deep. The round cloisonné pot is 3.75" wide at the top by 2.5" high. We believe this jade flower was made in Mainland China in the 1950's.
We have other jade flowers with the same flowers in round pots, but the pots have either a different background color, light blue or blue, or different floral designs – RL-61B, RL-61C. We also have a different design of jade flowers in rectangular cloisonné pots with agate, rose quartz, and green and white jade (RL-60A, B, C)
The stamen, flower petals, and branches are flexible and can be adjusted. When we ship the flowers, we fold the parts together to minimize the risk of damage during shipment. The flowers and petals may be dusted using a damp Q-tip.
