This is an absolutely magnificent(and large) brooch signed to the reverse as an Original by Robert. It is of excellent quality with faux pearls, crystal rhinestones and art glass hand wired to a gilded open work or filigree wreath. The large art glass stones are pear shaped and have rhinestone accented florals and leaves which appear to be growing or rambling over them in the same manner as a fruit vine. Pendant is in very nice condition and signed on a cartouche shaped as a painter's type pallet. The first use of this signature was seen in 1942 when designer Robert Levy along with David Jaffe and Irving Landsman founded the Fashioncraft Jewelry Co. Among the marks they used were Fashioncraft and and Original by Robert (after 1960 you will see this mark as Robert Original). At first glance his pieces are often mistaken for Miriam Haskell and Stanley Hagler due to similar use of material and designs. Has an additional hook which allows it to be worn on a chain as a necklace. Approximately 2 3/4 inches x 2 inches and is extremely three dimensional.
