Pink Cabbage Roses and Lilacs Print by Vouga Victorian.
This outstanding antique Victorian 1890's print has gorgeous soft pink cabbage roses paired with white lilacs. It is by the artist E. Vouga, and is a one of a kind. We have never seen nor had this print before, it is that RARE. In Victorian times, the pink rose symbolized that the bearer was An Ambassador of Love, while the white lilac stood for Innocent Love, how very sweet this pairing is.
The print is an 1890's chromolithograph in the classic half yard long format. The mat compliments it perfectly, as does the burnished gold composition frame that has ornate raised scrollwork and beaded detail. The overlapping color layers align in perfect register. Overall size is 14.5 x 21 inches, ready to hang. Please disregard any glass glare lower left. Print is in VG condition with just a small paper rub at the middle right edge, and minimal handling wear/aging. Frame and mat are near fine condition.
