This c1900 is a great old fruit print by the Victorian artist, A. L. Morgan. A basket is tipped to overflowing with luscious ripe strawberries, and around them on the table are pineapple and other fruits, possible peaches or apples. Morgan did several studies of fruits, and all of them have wonderful artwork. This one was given as an art supplement to the Syracuse Herald, on Sunday, June 17th, 1900. It was printed in 1900 by the H. A. Thomas and Wylie Lithographic Company of New York. It is an antique chromolithograph and has beautiful color. This print is in the classic half yard long format, so typical of Victorian times. It is in very good condition, with only a small top right corner bend which lays very flat, and a 1/4 inch tear at the left bottom, about 4 inches from the left side, hardly seen, and minimal surface handling wear. Please note, there is some lighting glare on the left side of each photograph, but the print is actually darker and evenly toned throughout.
