Antique Girl Print Bird Flower Chromolithograph.
This sweet young lass with blue eyes is just so charming. She has a white dove perched on her shoulder, giving her a little kiss. She has blond hair, a pink dress and headband, and holds a branch of white lilies. In Victorian times, the white lily symbolized the virtues of purity and sweetness, such a lovely pairing with this little girl and her pet bird.
This print was found on a recent picking trip in Pasadena, California. It is a chromolithograph from the 1890's, and the color layers align in perfect register. The print looks to be in its original thick 3-step edge oak frame. The background is a very light green, not blue. Please excuse any whitish glass reflections in the photos. It is really a beautiful study from Victorian times, and is a nice larger format. The print is in VG condition with just a few roll marks at the top right margin, not detracting, but mentioned for accuracy. The frame is also in nice shape, tiger oak with a rich patina. Overall size is 18.5 x 21.5 inches, ready to hang. Postage is an estimate since this frame is quite heavy, and any overages will be cheerfully refunded.
