Patriotic Cross Stitch Textile Work E Pluribus Unum Eagle Antique Frame.
Wow and wow again is the term for this gorgeous large textile piece. The stitchery was made in 1952 (see detailed provenance label on the back), and has an American Eagle with arrow and olive branch, couched with a banner that reads "E Pluribus Unum" (Out of Many, One). The needlepoint is finely executed with no stains. It is not wavy but lays completely flat (pardon my camera trying to capture the canvas weave). The colors are unfaded and it shows handsomely for its 65 year old age.
The needlework is framed in a heavy antique wood frame that dates about 1895, with a thick 3.75 inch moulding and fancy raised gesso burnished gold edge. The back is intact with the provenance label. It is really magnificent, and will display beautifully in the man cave or family room. It is also perfect for those in the military. Overall size is 18 x 25.75 inches, it does have glass, and is ready to hang. Please note: Postage is an estimate, and any overages are cheerfully refunded after checkout.
