Dr. Berne, a renown psychoanalytic psychiatrist, and avowed Freudian, lends a different and personalized slant to the theory. Keeping an unbiased and objective attitude, this book gives the impression of a keen prober rather than a staunch Freudian. It is one of the most interesting reads, and gives eye opening attitudes of the day in all areas of mental health. Be sure to read the chapter contents in the pictures shown with this item. Amazing!
A few of the most interest include 'When does sex begin?" "What does a newborn baby think about?""How can addict be cured?""How does an evil leader hold his followers?" plus many, many more totaling 71 chapters.
Published by Simon and Schuster, Inc. in 1947, this is the third printing. It has a dark blue canvas cover with Title and Author in gold gilt. The cover shows wear, however the inner pages are in excellent condition and the binding is tight. The second page has a vertical tear from the bottom edge that measures 5/8". There's some minor damage to the back and front inside covers (looks like there had been tape along the edge that was removed, taking some of the page with it). All in all, it is in really nice condition and what an interesting conversation piece it makes!
