Since 1908, Syracuse Ornamental Company, or better known as 'Syroco' was a Syracuse, New York legend. They got their start by molding wood pulp to form interior home decorations and novelty items. At a later date they integrated polymers into the molding process and then evolved entirely into plastics production. Every home in Syracuse had a wall sconce, mirror Syroco bookends! Closing their doors in 2005, Syroco gift items are quite collectible.
Here is acute little electric alarm clock that was underwritten by Syroco, and measures 4 1/8" square and 1 1/2" deep. It has hours, minutes and seconds hands, and alarm hand. The back states "115 volts 60 cycles 2 watts MODEL 704 SYROCO COPYRIGHT MCMLXIV SYRACUSE ORNAMENTAL CO. INC. SYRACUSE NEW YORK MADE IN USA." The back also has two buttons, one for the alarm shut off and the other for setting both the clock and the alarm.
This little alarm clock keeps perfect time, however the alarm hand 'floats.' Hands do not glow in the dark. Otherwise it is in very nice, vintage condition
