Beautiful antique D & C Limoges Dresser set, with tray and two matching covered jars. All three pieces are marked on the base with the D & C logo and the Delinieres Company mark. References for these marks can be found on page 96 of The Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, Third Edition by Mary Frank Gaston. The green mark is mark 3, an under glaze white ware mark that was used from 1894 until 1900. The red over glaze decorating mark is mark 5 and was used from 1894 to 1900.
All three pieces of this lovely Limoges Vanity Set are hand painted with delicate pink blossoms and dainty green leafs. A very detailed dainty green design of various shapes surrounds the center of the tray and the base of the jars. All three pieces have gold accents.
The tray measures approximately 10 1/2" by 8 1/4". It has scalloped edges with embossed details around the edges.
The large covered jar is approximately 4" wide and 2 3/4" tall with the cover on. The widest part of the center of the jar is also embossed with a delicate design. The cover has a delicate scalloped edge. The smaller jar is decorated exactly the same and is approximately 3 1/4" wide and 1 3/4" tall.
