A beautiful Limoges Hand Painted Platter marked with a Coronet Borgfeldt Decorators Mark and a Latrille Freres Factory White Ware Mark. Circa 1906 to 1913. The richly colored painting consists of a small wine bottle behind an apple, a pear and a cluster grapes. The edges are scalloped and is surrounded by one inch generous layer of gold with beading.
The platter measures 11 inches including the handles and 10 inches without.
There is an artist signature at the bottom. One knowledgeable person said it looked like J. Pouyat .
The Coronet Borgfeldt mark can be found on page 71 of Mary Frank Gaston's Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain, Third Edition. This mark was used from 1906 to 1920.
The Latrille Freres white ware mark was also found in Gaston's book on page 348 . It was used from 1899 until 1913.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no chips, no cracks and no crazing.
