Antique early Wallace Nutting signed panoramic hand colored landscape photograph dated 1907. The photo was taken during his early Southbury period, 1904-1910. The photo has a white blocked out signature directly on the lower left hand corner of the photograph. It reads "Copyright 1907 by Wallace Nutting". It appears to be signed in his own hand. The long copyright was only used during his early years and was phased out. The photograph depicts a lake or river with a hilly background and a pink atmospheric sky. The frame is approximately 14 1/4" by 5 1/4". The visible image is approximately 13 1/4" by 4 3/4".
The photograph is in great shape. I do see three small white areas in the sky that look like misses, no color. These do not appear to be scratches. This was the era that he was still experimenting so that could account for these spots. The original period frame is in overall very good condition but does have some scratches and chips that you would expect on a frame that is over 100 years old. The glass is fine, no chips or cracks or cloudiness.
