This large, gorgeous Phoenix reverse painted lamp (circa 1900-1915), is a piece of art! It was given to Mrs.Ball from Livonia MI in 1911 as a wedding gift. It had been purchased at J.L.Hudson Co. It was then sold to my partners family in 1964 when Mrs. Ball passed. Its been in the family until now when my partners parents passed away. The polychrome finish has been restored and everything else is in excellent condition! It lights up in almost 3D the painting is so realistic. There are 3 beautiful scenes that I feel I can walk into. These style of shades were reproduced, however the difference in the art work is very noticeable. This is the real thing. The base is also fabulous with a solid heavy construction and Arts & Crafts styling. It is beautifully cast with strapping and stones. The shade is open topped and sits on a shade rest and then is covered with a cast cap. It has 2 pull chain sockets and has been re-wired with cloth covered cord. The lamps 25" tall, the shade is 18" across and the base is 7 3/4" across. Any overcharge of shipping to your area will be refunded. Thanks for looking!
