This elegantly flowing Art Nouveau desk, piano, art lamp (circa 1900-1910), was probably made in France, Germany or Belgium. It has an open cast brass base that sits on a piece of etched dark charcoal marble. A piece of art!! The glass shade is purple art glass that is signed smooth on the etched glass shade (see picture). I was lost on the signature until one of our fantastic customers wrote and told me that Rethondes was the town in France where the armistice was signed that ended WW1. When I googled it, I found Rethondes glass (check it out). It was hand blown into a mold. The lamp has been re-wired with an in-line switch, it has a phonetic socket (shade fits up inside and is held in with a screw in shade holder), and uses a candelabra size bulb. It stands 18 1/2" tall, the shade is 3 1/2" across and 5" tall and the base is 6" across. There is subtle minor surface scratching on the shade that show up a great deal more in the bright light and pictures than in real life. Any overcharge of shipping to your area will be refunded. Thanks for looking!
