An exquisite original oil painting by the well listed Hungarian artist, Adolphe Fenyes (1867-1945).. A beautiful landscape of a river running through a country landscape in Europe... A small footbridge add to the charm of this lovely scene. Beautiful bright colors, a quintessential Adolphe Fenyes scene! This painting is oil on board, signed "Fenyes A"... There is a stamp on the back, which I cannot read. Housed in a black lacquered frame, this measures 15 1/4" x 10 1/2". Painting itself measures 12 3/4" x 8". Overall beautiful condition, some slight darkening in spots, consistent with age. Adolf (AKA Adolphe) Fenyes was a highly talented artist.. Fényes was a famous Hungarian painter, his career began at the end of the 19th century. Fényes developed a naturalist, later rather post-impressionist painting style. His favorite theme was the everyday life of peasants and country landscapes.. He founded the artist colony of Szolnok, where he was also a teacher. His paintings have sold for as high as $114,000 at auction!
